Zadoff House

residential remodel

A modernist gem, strategically located on an outcropping in the West Hills, the Zadoff House was completely redone in designer Taka Nakagawa’s characteristic Japanese-modern style. Extensive use of contrasting light and dark color palettes, mixed with healthy doses of clear fir and cedar woods, gives the home a wonderful, contemporary feel without sacrificing warmth and character. The living room features a unique fireplace with a poured concrete hearth, exquisite tile work, and a built-in pizza oven. A once-dark hallway has been opened up with a series of skylights, creating a sunlit corridor with natural lighting that changes throughout the day.
