Pool House
| The Pool House is a new custom home with a Japanese influence; it is a collaboration between the homeowners and the Sakura Group. The home brings the owners’ Tokyo sensibilities into Portland. From the pairing of modern design and traditional elements to the combination of materials ( locally made windows, Oregon-sourced oak, antique doors,and Akita cedar from Japan) the home creates harmoney between two cultures while providing a warm, relaxed, and simplified living space.
It incorporates a Genkan (entryway where guests remove shoes), a Tatami Room (tea room for gatherings and guests), and an Ofuro (traditional Japanese shower and soaking tub).
