Gust House
iconic infill project
An iconic house from the turn-of-the-century Arts and Crafts era, the Gust house was moved to its current location in 2005 from a lot at 17th and NE Schuyler to enable a new multifamily housing project to take place. By electing to move the house, more than 200 tons of material was saved from going to the landfill, and an historic Portland home lives on in a new location. Warm finishes and lots of natural light create a lively and engaging environment. In 2006, Sakura received Irvington’s Best Housing Infill Project award for the 17th St. house.
“We are extremely happy and feel a sense of appreciation to have been able to make this house our home. Taka is a gifted artist, designer.”
